Message from Chair of BSA

On behalf of the Benson School Association, I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to the school.

As a parent or carer of a child at the school you are automatically a member of the BSA together with Governors, teaching and non teaching staff. Ms E Armstrong, Head Teacher, is the President and Mrs W Edwards, Chair of the Governing Body, is the Vice-President.

The BSA committee is elected annually at the Annual General Meeting held early in the Autumn term and includes representatives from each Year group. The committee meets monthly to discuss ways of supporting the school.

The aim of the BSA is "to enhance the facilities and educational opportunities of the pupils within the school". This is achieved through organising fund-raising and social events for parents and children including a Christmas Craft Fair, Summer Fair, Ladies' Night, Roller Disco, Family Bingo and Easter Celebration. In the last year, approximately £9,000 has been raised following events organised by the BSA.

The BSA is totally reliant on the voluntary support of its members. The more help and support that is received, the easier it is to achieve the aim of the BSA and by so doing, help the children enjoy an enhanced teaching and learning environment.

Your support is invaluable and will ensure that the BSA can continue with its excellent work.

Yours sincerely

Amanda Goddard
Chair of BSA
